Why MyChemistryHomework
Welcome to MCH (MyChemistryHomework)!
Chemistry is omnipresent in nature, does get involved in our daily life, and is full of mystery!
If you ask me, chemistry is entertaining. It makes me curious.
Being a tutor, I keep it simple: Understand the concept and not memorize. If memorization is ever required, try to use mnemonics. Practice as much as you can. Handwriting leads to long-term memory. Eat healthy foods, do exercise, and stay away from pollution. Relax between studies. There are no alternatives to studies. And there may be multiple ways to solve a problem. You may not be able to solve all the problems you come up with; but if you try enough, you will achieve success. All you need to do is to think like an electron and look for positives!
My understanding is that you are unique as a learner. Method ‘A’ may work well for Dr. 'Z' but may fail on you! Therefore, I believe in customization. “What got you here won’t get you there.” - What it means it that you may not be able to pass two different exams using the same technique or solve two distinct problems thinking alike.
Do you feel chemistry is not for you? I get you, I used to think the same as you do. I was a math guy and never thought I would be able to advance in chemistry. I was fond of cooking though. Then one day I realized, "Chemistry is like cooking. Just don't lick the spoon!" So, I started chemistry over as if I were cooking. I have become a PhD holder in pharmaceutical and chemical sciences, begun sharing my experience in cooking of chemicals, and been doing it for more than 22 years in the US/India. Addressing the challenges of students has been my motivation.
I began tutoring during my university days, the first one being on a request from one of my acquainted ones. After the completion of my master’s degree, when I was applying for my PhD, I joined a private tutorial where I was teaching in organic/physical/inorganic chemistry courses for competitive exams. I planned, prepared and presented lessons, set and evaluated assignments and gave feedback for better performance. By career counseling and training, I recognized and nurtured the creative potential of each student. As a teaching assistant (TA) in organic/general/analytical chemistry courses during my PhD in pharmaceutical and chemical sciences with a specialization in bioanalytical and physical chemistry from one of the accredited universities in the US (I was a part-time TA when I was a full-time student) I worked with individual students to provide personalized educational, behavioral (critical in a chemistry lab!) and emotional support with hands-on training. I even developed and maintained an innovative website for teaching. For 3 years I assisted in ‘American Chemical Society Mass Spectrometry short course'. I’ve extensively worked in corporates.
At present, I do online/offline chemistry tutoring for IX-XII, boards like IB/IGCSE/CBSE/NCERT/ICSE/ISC/CISCE/KEA and competitive exams like AP Chemistry, KCET, NEET, JEE using global online platforms. I also help with homework and assignments. I am a freelance consultant in analytical instruments / consumables / chemicals, too.
I have ardent interest in apps, gadgets, foods, gym and music. I am passionate about chromatography.
